LIFE GROUPS

LIFE GROUPS  are at the heart of the life and ministry of New Song Christian Fellowship Louisville.   We encourage everyone to find a group so that they can grow in the Lord and in fellowship and friendship with others.

THE CHARACTERISTICS OF A LIFE GROUP:

• A CLOSE FAMILY -     The outward working of our relationship with Christ is much  akin to that of a family.  This small "family of God" is expressing itself through close intimate realtional ties with one another that the Bible describes as "The Body of Christ."
• LIVING THE WORD -     James says to "be doers of the word".  Life Groups offer a perfect atmosphere for individuals to discuss the Word and work out the implications of it in their lives.
• SHARING LIFE'S TESTIMONY -     The sharing of our personal victories is a powerful sermon that anyone can preach.  Testimonies build faith and encourage members of groups to further growth and prayer.
• PASTORAL CARE -     The Life Group Leader of these groups can do most of the Pastoral Care.  In addition, there are Area Leaders who can give spiritual guidance when necessary to shepherd the flock of God effectively.
• ENCOURAGEMENT -     Life Groups provide the opportunity to bear one another's burdens and through the release of spiritual gifts, we edify and equip the saints.
• SERVICE -     People released into ministry are the tangible fruit of effective body life.  Therefore, Life Group members are able to serve one another and be released into the work of the ministry.
• FRIENDSHIP EVANGELISM -     The very nature of small group ministry provides an excellent opportunity for unbelievers and the un-churched to witness the life of Christ being modeled by believers in a non-threatening atmosphere.
• DISCIPLESHIP -     Discipleship of new and young believers can take place naturally when saints of different backgrounds and levels of maturity meet corporately and individually to share their experiences with one another.
• SPIRITUAL GROWTH -     The dynamics of Life Groups lends itself to the accelerated growth of individuals in their spiritual walk as they are stretched and challenged to live out their faith.
• LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT -     Life Group Leaders are given the opportunity to prove themselves to be faithful and develop their leadership skills while at the same time have the opportunity to mentor other potential leaders within the group.
